Search suspended for missing man

UPDATE: Police have today suspended their search for Nambour man Paul Devine, who has been missing in bushland south of Warwick for nine days.

Warwick police district officer Inspector Greg Morrow said 103 State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers joined with police to scour the Wildash area for Mr Devine on Saturday,

Inspector Morrow said 35 SES volunteers as well as police and the RACQ CareFlight helicopter scoured the same area yesterday.

He said the search for Mr Devine had been suspended while police reviewed their tactics.

"We have found a few footprints in the sand but nothing really concrete," Inspector Morrow said.

He said it was likely that further searches would be conducted.

It is believed Mr Devine is a skilled bush man, however, police are appealing for public assistance in locating him as he has limited supplies, and it is possible that he may be disorientated.

He is described as being 175cms tall, Caucasian in appearance and has blue eyes, short brown hair and a brown goatee beard.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt and dark shorts.

Police are appealing to anyone that may be able to assist them to locate Mr Devine to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
