RONALD McDonald will soon make some new friends with the global restaurant chain set to receive a boost in numbers as the Darling Downs seeks to hire 250 new staff before the end of June.

Warwick and Stanthorpe McDonald's owner Trevor Burton said his two stores would be joining the recruitment drive.

"Between now and the end of the financial year we are looking to hire 35 new staff across all positions," Mr Burton said.

"We have positions available from entry level school aged crew roles all the way up to maintenance staff, trainee managers and management."

Warwick store manager Daine Reid said the restaurant was always looking for fresh faces.

"We are always hiring and we feel that the range of training available is beneficial to all our staff," he said.

"For the school age workers it provides skills for their chosen careers paths, and for our older staff it offers the same options and sometimes a career change."

McDonald's had the ability to offer its staff a large range of career enhancement opportunities, Mr Burton said.

"The qualifications that we train our staff in range from a Certificate 2, 3 or 4 in Retail, and a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma of Business," he said.

"These are all conducted in-house and any associated expenses such as travel to courses, food or accommodation are paid for by the company."

Mr Burton said his stores normally had a staff anywhere between 200-250 people, depending on the time of the year, and the new staff increase was in anticipation of an expected service increase as the year progressed.

"We are projecting forward for a sales increase for this year once we renovate the Warwick store," he said.

"The first lot of renovations should be done by the end of May and the second by the end of September."
