Rudd and Abbott will increase GST: Clive Palmer
BOTH Kevin Rudd and Tony Abbott would increase the GST if either was elected on September 7, Clive Palmer said in Nambour today.
"The GST is just a piece of legislation that any government can change at any time,'' Mr Palmer said.
"Rudd and Abbott rely on Australian taxpayers to pay for their failures and incompetence.
"Their approach is that if the budget needs more money they can get it from the taxpayer no matter how badly people out there are hurting,'' he said.

Mr Palmer said the Prime Minister's fixation on taxing Australians into oblivion was highlighted by the fact he had introduced several new taxes during an election campaign including a slug on savings.
"If that's his approach while he's trying to win votes, imagine what is in store if he gets re-elected.
"Abbott is no different. He doesn't know what he is doing so he just keeps supporting tax increases,'' he said.
Mr Palmer said only the Palmer United Party could run the country's economy competently and spare Australians from endless taxes.
