Rob's taking the reins
ROB Hall has made many appearances at Killarney Real Estate throughout the years - but this time he is here to stay.
He said it would be business as usual for the real estate agency after he stepped into the managerial role after Chris McGregor moved to GNF in Warwick. And it won't be the first time sellers, buyers and renters at Killarney have seen Mr Hall's face in the historic Willow St building.
"I have been coming out and running the office when (Chris) wasn't here," he said.
"He just asked me one year if I would fill in for him while he was on holidays."
Mr Hall said he had been in the real estate game for many years and he and wife Bev had owned Buderim First National for well over a decade.
But when their children - who also worked in the business - decided on new career paths about eight years ago, they decided to sell up and downgrade.
"We had purpose built an office in our house and started Hall Plus Hall, and we continued working for our own clients," Mr Hall said.
Then the opportunity came up for him to take the reins at Killarney - and he jumped at the chance.
"I was sort of in semi-retirement so I had some time on my hands," he said.
"We have been coming out here for 20 odd years going to the (Matron's) ball in Warwick in November and we had decided Killarney was the place for us.
"I enjoy meeting people and the thing I enjoy about here is the pace of life and that is basically the reason we are leaving Buderim."
He said Mrs Hall had been in the business for 35 years and she would bring her expertise to Killarney Real Estate by the end of June if not before.
"Bev is winding up things at Buderim, organising the sale of our house and then we will move to Killarney," Mr Hall said.
"And Kath (Bloomfield) will stay on doing the book work just as she has been."
Mr Hall said outside of the office, he enjoyed community work and would be getting more involved with the township once he had settled in.
"I have already been approached about some opportunities," he said.
