Roads closed as flood recedes

WHILE Cunningham’s Gap has now been reopen for more than 48 hours, a number of roads in the Southern Downs are still closed and motorists are being advised to stay away from areas still affected by floodwaters.

The Toowoomba-Karara Road outside of Leyburn was assessed for damage yesterday and could be closed for up to a week while repairs take place.

Other roads still closed include:

Dalrymple Creek Road is closed to all vehicles between Hansens Road and Mullins Road due to floodwater damage.

The Gatton -Clifton Road is closed due to water over Kings Creek and rocks on the road.

The Clifton - Leyburn Road is closed to all vehicles due to flooding.

Freestone Road is closed at Palmers Bridge at Freestone due to damage.

The Warwick-Allora Road is closed between Massis and Deuchar due to severe pavement damage.

Dalby - Cecil Plains Road is closed to all vehicles due to flooding at Ashall Creek.

Both the Chinchilla - Wondai and Chinchilla - Tara Roads remain closed.

The Warrego Highway is open at Dalby but closed at Charleys Gully in Chinchilla.

Leichardt Highway between Condamine and Moonie is closed due to floodwater on the road.
