Retirees move to village
IT MAY have been a slow start for the Oak Tree Retirement Village, but keen retirees have snapped up 11 of the 13 available villas.
Oak Tree Retirement Village's Melissa Luck said the development aimed at over-55s had progressed fairly typically with things ramping up.
"Usually the first 12 months are a little slower to get started, but we are finding our feet and now we have kicked off," Mrs Luck said.
"The community centre is going to be fully complete as of this week."
She said the village would continue to expand with more development on the horizon.
"We are commencing construction on another four two-bedroom homes (in April) and in the middle of the year, six brand-new three bedroom and two bathroom homes," Mrs Luck said.
"And later this year we will build an in-ground solar-heated pool."
She said the pool would be the finishing touch on the communal part of the village, which also had a lawn bowls green.
She said the Oak Tree Retirement Group would start another four villages around the country this year - to add to the portfolio of eight in Australia.
