Rescue after woman breaks leg in fall

EMERGENCY authorities were called to help a 41-year-old woman after she fell 40-50m down an embankment near the Condamine River crossing in Pratten yesterday morning.

Her fall into the water resulted in a broken leg near her ankle.

Ambulance officers received the call about 10am and were aided by Fire and Rescue crews.

The vertical rescue took several hours with Fire and Rescue crews using a stretcher to bring her up the embankment.

The woman was transported to the Warwick Hospital, arrivingabout 1.30pm, where she was treated for her injury.
