Reds and United progress after two exciting ladies' matches

Home-side Ballandean went into Saturday's major semi-final as favourites.

With rain pelting down and lightning playing havoc, the game was temporarily suspended.

When things reconvened, City took it to Ballandean but simply couldn't convert.

Anika Spiller got on the score sheet after Danika Newman found her through a long ball.

The reds netted a second and the game was done and dusted.

City will take on Stanthorpe United this Saturday, after the Redbacks upset Tenterfield 2-1.

Abbie McPaul and Brittany McEvoy were dominant in midfield for United while young fullbacks Lara Beckett and Danielle Musumeci were solid, after having to back-up from the Senior Colts tie.

Tenterfield rallied and managed to nick a goal back late in the game.

United now tackle City next weekend at C.F White.
