Realtor earns award

MATTHEW Mauch started his real estate career as a hobby by scouring the property pages and buying small farms.

Almost 12 months later, he went professional - by getting his licence to work for Landmark Harcourts Warwick - and has been recognised by the company for his achievements.

Mr Mauch was just awarded with a bronze award in sales for October to December and took out the number two spot in rural sales for Queensland in December.

"Previously I worked in transport and did farm hand work," he said.

"I reckon that gives me a huge advantage because I know where the good soils are, the bad soils, where the water is."

Despite his obvious enthusiasm for the industry, Mr Mauch said he was surprised with the accolade.

"I couldn't believe it, it's actually a bit overwhelming," he said.

Landmark Harcourts Warwick business owner Max Holder said he wasn't surprised Mr Mauch excelled in his first year on the job.

"He's very enthusiastic and very good at his job," Mr Holder said.
