X Factor, Big Brother stars support teen burn victims
REALITY television and music stars have come together to support Toowoomba teenagers Paris Turkington and Matthew Richards in their recovery from serious burns.
A concert featuring X-Factor contestants Adil Memon and Joel Goncalves as well as Brisbane rapper Fortafy and R&B singer Ezra James has been organised by one of Matthew's friends to help lift their spirits.
Cody Schaeffer said he and two friends used their contacts to organise A Day for Paris and Matt concert to be held in Brisbane on Saturday.
He said he had visited Matt and Paris since they were seriously burned when someone threw accelerant on an open fire during a backyard party in Harristown last month.
"They are recovering," Mr Schaeffer said.
"Because they are so young and so fit they have that fighting thing."
Saturday's all ages concert will be held at 87 Main St in Kangaroo Point, Brisbane.
"We've been told a few schools are getting buses down."
He said there would be jumping castles, face painting and a barbecue to complement the live acts.
The concert will be hosted by Big Brother 2012 season star Angie Murray.
Funds raised from the drug and alcohol-free event will go towards the costs associated with Paris and Matthew's ongoing recovery.
