Rashleigh selected in Crows side

RUGBY LEAGUE: Young footballer Ky Rashleigh has plenty to crow about after he was selected for the next representative step.

Rashleigh travelled north to Bundaberg on June 7-9 to represent the Western Mustangs, alongside fellow Stanthorpe Gremlins juniors Brock Patti and Isaac Jones.

The 16-year-old, who plies his trade at hooker on the field, impressed selectors and will now throw on the Central Crows jersey at the Sunshine Coast next month.

"It was pretty cool. A really good feeling and keen for the experience,” Rashleigh said.

"I was a little bit surprised to be picked. All the boys around me made me look pretty good.”

The Mustangs comfortably won the carnival, with a 44-nil win over Wide Bay Bulls, 50-12 win over Central Queensland Capras and 32-nil victory over the Sunshine Coast Falcons.

"We all gelled and played really well,” he said.

The Crows will be one of four teams at the July carnival. Selectors will then pick a Queensland side.
