Rain forces Light the Night venue change

TONIGHT'S Light the Night event has shifted venue.

Owing to today's rain, the event has moved from Lions Park to the Bathersby Centre (near the St Joseph's Church), commencing at 5pm.

The event raises funds for the Leukaemia Foundation which supported Bonita O'Brien and family throughout her mum's treatment.

Bonita will give a speech and lean on her own personal experience to raise awareness at the event.

"To get up and speak will be tough but Light the Night meant a lot to mum so it's good to be able to do that,” she said.

"When you're suffering a cancer - any cancer - you can feel so alone. So to go to a night like this and to see other white lanterns out there, you know you're not alone.”

Mrs O'Brien thanked Angie Sims and others behind Stanthorpe's Light the Night.
