Racers beat the rain at Nationals

THE Warwick Drag Racing Association hosted the 6 Banger Nationals over the weekend.

Six-cylinder enthusiast Mark Stewart and his wife Lyn were instrumental in organising the event for drag racers with six-cylinder engine vehicles.

The 6 Bangers has proved to be popular with drivers coming from as far away as Sydney to compete at the weekend.

Mr Loy said Saturday’s program saw racing finish at 6pm but with the threat of rain coming on Sunday organisers and racers agreed to run two rounds of finals on Saturday night so they would have some results if rain cancelled the Sunday program.

Results: Super Street – Kris Griffith VN Commodore, Super Sedan – Lyn Stewart Holden Gemini, Modified – Glenn Teale Slingshot, Blown Turbo – Daryl Freeman Centura, Classic – Angelia Weise EK Holden, Top Eliminator – Daryl Freeman in his Centura.
