Pottsville man charged over child sex attempt

A POTTSVILLE man has been charged after allegedly approaching a 14-year-old girl online for sex.

Detectives from the Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit and officers involved with Taskforce Argos charged the 18-year-old man late last week.

The accused was arrested at a Gold Coast Shopping Centre on Friday.

He was charged with one count of using the internet to procure a child under 16 and four counts of grooming a child under 16.

He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on January 8.
