Poll shows drop in support for LNP in Queensland
A NEW opinion poll has emphasised the importance of Queensland in the federal election, showing a fall in support for the state's Liberal National Party Government.
The ABC reports the Newspoll in the Australian newspaper shows the Newman Government's primary vote has dropped five points to 44 per cent in the past quarter.
The survey was taken before the State Government passed on hefty pay rises to MPs and before Queenslander Kevin Rudd returned to the Prime Ministership.
Support for the ALP increased two per cent to 29 per cent.
But the biggest increase was recorded by The Greens.
Their primary vote rose by four points to 10 per cent - its highest level since before last year's Queensland election.
