Policeman allegedly pushed through window at Howard

A 19-YEAR-old Torbanlea man has been charged with assault after he allegedly sparked an altercation that resulted in a police officer being pushed through a window.

The incident happened about 4.40pm on Saturday when the man went to the Howard Police Station in relation to another matter.

When police attempted to arrest him a physical altercation ensued, allegedly resulting in a male police officer being pushed through a window.

The police officer received minor injuries and was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital for treatment.

The man has been charged with two counts of resisting arrest and one count each of serious assault of a police officer and wilful damage of police property.

He will appear in the Maryborough Magistrates Court on March 17.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
