Tattoo to expose man behind theft at fast food diner

POLICE have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquires into a theft that happened on Monday.

Stanthorpe police officer-in-charge senior sergeant Mark Ireland said a handbag and iPhone was stolen from a dining table at a fast food restaurant on the New England Hwy about 2.30pm.

Snr Sgt Ireland said the man police wanted to speak to was described as having a "notable tattoo" on the back of his right leg.

CCTV has been released to help identify the man.
