Polair successfully hunts down car after failure to stop

POLICE have charged a man with various offences after a vehicle allegedly failed to stop for police in Kallangur last night.

It will be alleged that at about 10:45pm police signalled for a stolen vehicle to stop in Duffield Street, Kallangur.

Police will allege the vehicle has speed of and evaded them but was tracked by Polair.

The vehicle has entered Elizabeth Road, Griffin which is a dead end road, allowing police to close in on the vehicle.

Police will allege that the vehicle then rammed into a police car before coming to a stop.

The  driver was then taken into custody by police.

A 22-year-old Browns Plains man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, wilful damage, possess dangerous drug, fail to stop, unlicensed driving, possess drug utensil, fail to dispose of syringe and two counts of obstruct police.

The man is due to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today.
