Pink’s hubby after Queensland run-in: ‘WTF!’

PINK'S husband, motocross star Carey Hart, has had a run-in with a local at a Brisbane petrol station after he was spotted using his mobile phone while filling up his car on Tuesday afternoon.

In an Instagram post, accompanied by a selfie video of himself mouthing "What the f***," Hart described the moment a woman approached him at the petrol pump.

Life with P!NK

"She told me that I was putting everyone's life in danger my (sic) using my phone at the gas pump," he wrote.

"That if I had the light turned on, accidentally dropped it, the phone would light the fumes, the station would blow up, and kill all of us."

"What the hell is wrong with people?????? You got some serious scare tactics over here lol."

Fans online were divided, with some defending the woman's actions and spruiking the dangers of using a mobile phone at a petrol station, while others laughed off the threat - that the phone's EMF could ignite fumes - as an urban myth.

"On behalf of Brisbane - so sorry!" elle.dee.tee posted.

Instagrammer keytohappinessdesign joked about the constant dangers of being an Australian.

"Everything kills you in Australia. She saved your life bro."

Hart is in Australia accompanying Pink on her Beautiful Trauma tour, with the Queensland leg of the tour wrapping up on Wednesday.

It's been a challenging visit for the singer and her family, after she was slammed for cancelling gigs in Sydney due to illness, and harassed by paparazzi during a beach trip on the Gold Coast.

RACQ's head of technical and safety Steve Spalding recommended drivers keep their phones out of reach at petrol stations as a precaution.

"Our advice for all motorists is don't use a mobile phone at a service station as it is a distraction when you're pumping a highly volatile product," Mr Spalding said.

"Putting your phone away removes any risk of potential ignition."
