Peace film is screening

IF you are looking for something relaxing and possibly even a little romantic to do tomorrow, why not sit back with a friend or loved one and enjoy a great Italian movie.

The Warwick Peace Festival will hold the first of three international film days this weekend and is kicking it off with a great Italian flick.

Il Postino, or The Postman, will be screening at the Warwick TwinCinema tomorrow at 3.45pm.

Michael Funder, one of the organisers of the Peace Festival, said the movie offers a European charm and is encouraging people to take the time to check it out.

“It is a terrific film set in an Italian seaside village and it is about abumbling postman who falls for the local beauty and he gets the help of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda to become more eloquent,” Mr Funder said.

Mr Funder said despite the romantic storyline it was a movie that could be enjoyed by anybody.

“It’s a movie for everyone, and everyone is welcome. It’s not like a Hollywood blockbuster,” he said.

The Peace Festival committee will hold a film day on the first Sunday of each month until the Peace Festival weekend, which is April 30 and May 1.

Tickets for the film are $10.50 for adults and $7.50 children.
