Palmer’s PR man keeps his job while facing charges

AWAITING an April 27 court appearance facing charges including intimidating a witness and attempted fraud, Clive Palmer's media manager Andrew Crook has re-emerged as key liaison to the controversial MP.

Crook and former police detective turned PI, Mick Featherstone, were arrested and charged in December last year, over their role in what police allege was an elaborate plan to intimidate a NAB executive, key witness in a $70 million lawsuit that involved former AFL player Tony Smith.

Despite the clouds of looming court appearances over his head, Crook, when asked whether he had returned to work for Mr Palmer, yesterday claimed he'd never left.

Mr Crook yesterday said the next statement to be issued by himeself would be about plans and costs involved in the restoration of Palmer Coolum Resort.

Mr Crook, who is based in Brisbane, has been Mr Palmer's media adviser since before the tycoon entered politics.

His PR firm is called Crook Media.
