IPSWICH brothers Ben, Harry and Jack Carew are changing the way people think about paintball.

Their hard work as owners of Tactical Ops Paintball has scored them the top position in the Queensland Times Facebook poll calling for the Ipswich public to nominate the best new businesses in the city.

The centre has only been open for four months but already has a loyal base of fortnightly players and growing awareness of paintball's profile as a sport.

Harry said the inspiration for the attitude they take at Tactical Ops Paintball came from the brother's childhood polocrosse games.

"It was just one big family," he said.

"That's what we wanted to create here."

Harry said the business had experienced astronomical growth since it opened and now has more than 14,000 fans on Facebook.

Alongside Tactical Ops Paintball, Rustic Blonde and Nails By Brooke also got plenty of votes from the Ipswich public.

Categories will be open twice a week until the end of August.

The polls are part of the QT campaign City Pride, encouraging people to support local business with the chance to share in $11,000 worth of prizes.
