Our mothers with pearls
MOTHER'S Day comes once a year, and for two new mothers, the day will be extra special. Rosa Berrios and Kirsten Ellis shared their Mother's Day experiences as they prepare to spend this Sunday with their new bundles of joy.
Baby: Clara Salazar, born May 6, weighing 3.71kg.
Number of Mother's Days: First with Clara and third all up.
What will you be doing this Mother's Day? Resting. I will be home by then. And settling Clara in and making sure her big brother looks after her.
What have you done in the past? Gone out to lunch with my mum and husband.
What does Mother's Day mean to you? A chance to tell all the mothers, grandmothers and aunties how much they are appreciated.
What do you think a mother's role is? To make sure they foster and teach their children the values that will lead to them succeeding in life and hopefully develop them into well-rounded individuals.
Baby: Katie Traplin, born May 6, weighing 4.07kg.
Number of Mother's Days: First with Katie and tenth all up.
What will you be doing this Mother's Day? Sleeping. I will be home, and will probably be getting everyone used to having a new baby in the house.
What have you done in the past? Usually I get breakfast in bed and the kids make me a card.
What does Mother's Day mean to you? It's a great day to spend with the kids and family.
What do you think a mother's role is? To make sure you are always there for them and to nurture, care for and love them unconditionally..
