Orienteering champs map their way around the Granite Belt

ORIENTEERING: Competitors will descend on the Granite Belt this weekend, for the Australian Orienteering Championships.

The three Stanthorpe events start tomorrow and run until Sunday.

Stanthorpe Orienteer Simeon Burrill said he is looking forward to his sixth competition.

"I'm looking forward to running on my favourite terrain, with some good granite rock features typical of the Stanthorpe and Granite Belt regions,” he said.

Friday will be a model event for the Australian Long Distance Championships at Passchendaele State Forest.

Saturday will be the Australian Long Distance Championships, WRE, and Australia and New Zealand Test Match.

Passchendaele State Forest, Amiens Section. Sunday will be the Australian Middle Distance Championships, and Australia and New Zealand Test Match at The Cascades.
