A STAGGERING eight million people - or one in two Australian adults - will have bought a ticket for Tuesday night's $100 million Oz Lotto draw by the time the first number drops.

Oz Lotto had been expecting to sell 7.5 million entries, but that estimate was revised up late on Monday after a rush of entries.

To win the record first division jackpot you will need to get all seven numbers.

You have until 7.30pm (AEDT) on Tuesday to buy your ticket, with the draw at 8.40pm (AEDT) on Channel 7.

And just because there are eight million entries, your odds of winning remain the same, although there is a greater chance you might have to share the loot with someone else.

But don't get too excited - your chance of winning first division in Oz Lotto is one in 45,379,620.
