Motorist hospitalised after New England Highway crash

UPDATE: Paramedics transported two patients to the Stanthorpe Hospital after they were injured when a car and truck collided on the New England Highway this morning. 

One patient was trapped in a car after it was pinned by the truck. 

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services officers removed the the person, who suffered chest injuries. 

A second patient had minor injuries. 

Both were transported in a stable condition. 

11:30AM: QUEENSLAND Emergency Services officers are working to free a person trapped in a wrecked car.

A QFES spokespwoman said the initial reports suggest a car and truck collided near the intersection of the New England Highway and Amiens Rd, at Thulimbah.

The truck has the car wreck pinned, preventing the patient from exiting.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics are also on scene.

They are treating one patient, who was able to self-extricate from the crash.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
