
One killed, 10 injured in horror day on Qld roads
POLICE are investigating four separate crashes which occurred on the state's roads in the last 24 hours.
A 52-year-old Highland Park woman died after her car collided with another vehicle at an intersection on Entertainment Drive at Oxenford about 6pm on Tuesday.
Police said initial investigations suggest a vehicle travelling north on Entertainment Drive collided with another vehicle exiting a theme park at a controlled intersection.
The drivers and sole occupants of both vehicles were treated at the scene and transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
A 52-year-old Highland Park woman was pronounced deceased later at the hospital.
Meanwhile, two people were injured when a car crashed into a pole in Townsville just before 2.50am Wednesday.
A truck burns on the M1 near Oxenford.
One crash victim was in a critical condition while the other was in a serious state when they were taken to the Townsville Hospital.
On Tuesday, seven people were injured in a pile up on the M1 at Coomera which saw a truck burst into flames and end up on the wrong side of the motorway.
