New technology causes NBN roll-out delay in Stanthorpe
THE roll-out time for NBN in Stanthorpe has been delayed by up to six months.
NBNco previously expected Stanthorpe to be fully connected between July and September this year however introduction of Fibre to the Curb (FttC) technology has pushed back the roll-out to between January and March 2019.
Queensland nbn head Ryan Williams said access to the NBN Co would start construction work in the coming months.
"We're working hard to roll out the network as quickly as we can with as little disruption as possible, and we appreciate your patience while construction is underway,” Mr Williams said.
About 2300 Stanthorpe premises are expected to be ready to connect to the nbn broadband access network from early next year and 800 premises will use FttC technology.
Currently 2242 premises in the Stanthorpe area can connect to the nbn network.
