New sentence for de facto attack

A MAN has been re-sentenced this week over a violent attack on his sleeping de facto.

The former Warwick man, 48, appeared in Warwick Magistrates Court last month, where it was heard he punched, kicked and tipped cola over the head of his partner.

He was initially placed on an intensive correctional order but it was heard the order would make it impossible for the man to relocate to New South Wales to care for his ailing mother.

The original order was revoked this week and the man was then sentenced to six months jail, wholly suspended for two years, and placed on probation for two years.
