NETBALL: Three teams from the Stanthorpe Netball association have been travelling to take part in the Interdistrict competition.

The groups, aged 12 and under, 13-14 and 15-16, have travelled to Laidley and Toowoomba to take part in the first two rounds against teams from around the Darling Downs.

Interdistrict coordinator Bernadette Brunckhorst said the girls had all been enjoying the games.

"They're loving it, it's been really good for them,” she said.

"Good for developing their skills.”

This has been the first time in a number of years the club has taken part in the competition, and Brunckhorst said they have been learning a lot during the games.

"(The) main motivation for getting back into interdistricts is to play some competition netball against kids their own age,” she said.

Brunckhorst said she also hoped it might encourage more girls to sign up to play with the Stanthorpe Netball Association.

"If not this year than in future years perhaps (for future seasons),” she said.

There are two games left in the competition, before teams head to the finals.

There is still time to sign on, with the season starting on Saturday, April 29 at 9am.

Cost is $100 for ages 5-10 and $110 for ages 11 and up.

For more information contact Bernadette Brunckhorst on 0423177044 or Kellie Tomkins on 0439814527.
