Navy Cadets call out for new members

THE Australian Navy Cadets were out in uniform on Saturday, recruiting new members to join their unit.

The recruitment drive was driven by the Training Ship (TS) Kookaburra after advising interest to grow their unit.

Petty Officer of the Australian Navy Cadets, Whole Ship Co-ordinator Officer in Charge, Peter Beacroft said joining the Australian Navy Cadets is a great opportunity for youth development.

“Cadets can join from the year they turn 13, and their last day as a cadet would be the day they turn 18,” Mr Beacroft said.

“We parade on most Sunday’s during the school term.

“On the school holidays cadets are given the opportunity to go away, whether that be for a few days or even a week, and usually those activities are free of cost.”

If you have any further inquiries or are interested in joining the Australian Navy Cadet Unit, contact Peter Beacroft on 0418 673 298 or email Peter.Beacroft@navycadets.gov.au.
