Mr Rentals is set to go
RENTING out lounge suites may seem a world away from selling cars but that has not stopped Graeme Collins Automotive principal, David Cassels from opening a business which does just that.
Mr Cassels said he and two business partners saw a hole in the local market and decided to jump at the opportunity when a Mr Rentals franchise came up for the Rose City.
People may be familiar with the company - which has outlets in Australia and New Zealand and rents out everything from furniture to white goods and electrical items.
Mr Cassels said there was certainly a need for such a service in the Rose City.
"There's nothing like it at all in Warwick at the moment," he said.
"Warwick used to be grouped in with Toowoomba but it has been split up into its own area."
Mr Cassels said opening the chain store locally would offer up some employment opportunities and hopefully keep some money in the local economy.
"We are just excited by the opportunity to provide this service to the whole Southern Downs," Mr Cassels said.
"We'll be offering the service to Killarney through to Tenterfield, Stanthorpe and Inglewood."
He said he would still be undertaking his full time obligations at Graeme Collins Automotive and was in the process of looking for a manager for the shop-front.
"We are starting interviews this week," he said.
Mr Cassels said renting would allow people to deck out their houses or replace old electronics without going in to huge amounts of debt to do so.
"And it allows people to upgrade every year," he said.
Mr Cassels said the shop would be located in the recently vacated Warwick Awnings and Blinds shop on Palmerin St and the doors were set to open in early March.
