Motorist killed in suspected head-on collision

A 43-year old woman has been killed in a suspected head-on collision on the New England Highway tonight.

Just four kilometres from the end of Wallangarra Rd heading south towards Severnlea a holden commodore station wagon travelling north collided with a holden barina travelling south between 6.30pm and 6.45pm.

Sr Constable Scott Armbruster who attended the scene said at this time it would appear that the holden commodore was travelling on the wrong side of the road at the time of collision.

The three males in the holden commodore have been transported to the Stanthorpe hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver of the holden commodore was breath tested at the scene but the result was negative for drink driving.
