More woe for Tigers star after training injury
WESTS Tigers playmaker Tim Moltzen will be out for up to six months after breaking his left kneecap at training yesterday.
The 25-year-old, who has been out of action since rupturing the ACL in his same knee in the round seven match against the Broncos this year, fell to the ground in agony before being taken to hospital where scans revealed the extent of the injury.
He is scheduled to have surgery today.
Wests Tigers head coach Mick Potter said the injury occurred early in the training session and there had been "no real contact".
"Tim was in a lot of pain and it's a real blow for him," Potter said.
"He's been looking really good in training."
With former captain Benji Marshall having left the club at the end of the season, Potter had identified Moltzen as the likely halves partner for boom youngster Luke Brooks in 2014.
