THEY are known as Mouse and Minnie, the mother and daughter team from the Just Flags group which volunteers week-in, week-out, in motor sport around the nation.

Judy 'Mouse' Evans and daughter Leigh 'Minnie' Evans hail from Wynnum and are part of a group of 10 which is booked as volunteers for anything from the Queensland Motor Racing Championships at Morgan Park Raceway to hill climbs, street events, go-kart events and the V8 Supercars.

Some of the group are travelling to Melbourne for the Formula One GP this weekend.

"The Warwick District Sporting Car Club is one of the few who really look after their officials," Judy said.

At 31, many might expect Leigh to be at the beach at weekends rather than holding a microphone or flag on a hot Sunday afternoon at Warwick.

"I am not a coast person, I love the race track," Leigh said.

"But if it was a beach, four-wheel drive and beer, it would be a different story."

Judy's husband Dave, who is known at the track as Skippy, is also involved.

Away from the track, Judy works as a bingo caller, Leigh is a storeperson and Dave is a plant operator.
