Milford tipped for Broncos' top award
RUGBY LEAGUE: Anthony Milford is expected to be named the Paul Morgan Medal winner as the club's best player at the Broncos' awards ceremony on Friday.
Retiring lock Corey Parker, who has won the medal twice in the past three seasons, will face stiff competition from Milford who finished sixth in Dally M.
Other contenders are fullback Darius Boyd, back-rower Matt Gillett, veteran Sam Thaiday and prop Adam Blair.
NRL.com says Milford is favoured for two other gongs: the members' choice award and his field goal to pip the Cowboys in the grand final rematch in round four will be hard to top for play of the year.
The night will serve as a farewell to Parker who retires after 16 seasons and 347 games at the club.
Other players to be farewelled will be Titans-bound prop Jarrod Wallace, Lachlan Maranta who has signed with rugby union and Jack Reed who was forced to retire due to chronic shoulder problems.
