Melbourne's Docklands cordoned off after suspect package

POLICE have cordoned off La Trobe St in Melbourne's Docklands after the discovery of a suspect package this morning.

Victoria Police said "unattended luggage" was reported around 9.30am.

A large area around Etihad Stadium has been evacuated and cordoned off for "safety reasons", police confirmed.

The Channel 7 building was reportedly evacuated.

Police are currently at the scene and investigating.

The discovery follows shocking news this morning of bomb explosions killing three and injuring 125 at the Boston Marathon in the US.
