Meet new friends at social tennis

NATHAN Costello hopes 20 players will serve it up at the first social day of the year at Warwick Tennis Association courts on Saturday .

The association president said he planned to run social days every two or three months of the year.

Players, aged 16 and over, are welcome at the courts in Fitzroy St from 3-6pm.

Each player will enjoy three sets of doubles, each set with a different partner.

Costello said the social day was a great way to meet new people.

"Players of all standards are welcome," he said.

"We try to match players of similar standards."

Costello said once a 2012 coach was appointed, junior fun days would also be held.

The public are welcome to play social tennis at the courts with court fees paid into a secure box on the eastern side of the club house.
