Mayor reflects on show

MAYOR Ron Bellingham watched the demolition derby at the Warwick Show from the grandstand and pondered his final appearance at the annual show as mayor.

Cr Bellingham said there was a tinge of sadness as he reflected on his time involved with the show over the past years.

"I was thinking about this being my last show as mayor, but I sort of think 'oh well, someone else will be there in my position'," Cr Bellingham said.

"Times change and I know it's time for change."

He said the show had changed in many ways over the years, but always proved to be a rewarding community event.

"It has changed. The people continue to evolve and change and they bring the change with them," he said.

"I have noticed the character of the show significantly changes with the people who are in the committee positions and it's great.

"This year, there was a lot of local involvement and that's what I notice," Cr Bellingham said.
