
Store owner held knife-wielding bandit on floor
UPDATE: A witness has told how the Blue Store owner held a knife-wielding bandit on the floor while waiting for police to arrive at the scene.
Fred Green, a neighbour of the Blue Store in Pialba, said the male shop owner suffered a busted lip and was pretty shaken up by the incident.
He said the offender was wearing a hoodie and was aged in his 30s.
Mr Green said police arrived and put the man in the back of a paddy wagon.
Ambulance officers were also at the scene and took a woman to hospital.
EARLIER: A man who is believed to have tried to rob Pialba's Blue Store with a knife has been taken away by Hervey Bay police.
The store, on the corner of Beach Rd and Watson St, is temporarily closed at 10am on Monday while Hervey Bay police investigate.
No further details are available at this stage.
