Man charged over suspicious death of infant in 2012
POLICE have charged a 28-year-old Beenleigh man following the suspicious death of an infant in Gunalda, north of Gympie, in 2012.
In September 2012, investigators from Maryborough Child Protection Unit with the assistance of detectives from State Crime Command's Child Trauma Taskforce commenced an investigation into the death of the infant.
Yesterday detectives charged a 28-year-old man with one count each of murder, failing to provide the necessaries, assault occasioning bodily harm and torture.
He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
