Man cut up by propeller after being run over by own tinnie

A MAN run over by his tinnie and cut up with the propeller has been airlifted to hospital.

The man, 40 years old from Maryborough, was tending to crab pots at Swan Creek, Poona, in his tinnie when the accident occurred.

He and his mates were pushing the tinnie into deeper waters when it flipped over and the boat ran over him.

He was hit by the propeller, sustaining a suspected head injury and cuts to his arms and head.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue crew landed at the Showgrounds in the Poona township to treat and transport the injured man.

He was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
