Police confirm deaths result of neighbour dispute

A MAN facing a triple murder charge following a dispute between neighbours in rural Victoria appeared in court on Friday.

Victorian Police attended the crime scene near Logan on Wednesday.

On Thursday, a 63-year-old Wedderburn man, Ian Francis Jamieson, was charged with three counts of murder and appeared in an out of session court hearing that night.

The Herald Sun has reported the three victims were elderly Peter and Mary Lockhart and 48-year-old Greg Holmes, but police did not verify the victims' identities.

However, police confirmed on Friday they believed the murders were the result of a long-running dispute between neighbours in the area.

The man appeared via videolink in the Bendigo Magistrates Court.
