Man, 75, trapped by arm in Gladfield crash freed

UPDATE: A 75-YEAR-OLD man left trapped after his car and caravan trailer rolled into a ditch on the Cunningham Hwy at Gladfield just after 11am has been freed.

The man sustained serious injuries after the caravan rolled on top of the car and trapped him by his arm.

The man's wife sustained minor seatbelt injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The man has been airlifted with his wife to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.

Earlier: A 75-YEAR-OLD man was left trapped by his arm following a vehicle collision on the Cunningham Hwy at Gladfield just after 11am.

Ambulances arrived on the scene at about 11.30am where a female patient is also said to have seatbelt injury.

Fire and rescue personnel attended the scene to free the man from his vehicle and have closed the highway to allow a rescue helicopter to land.
