Man, 45, charged over sex bid with teen girls

A 45-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after allegedly trying to arrange to have sex with two 14-year-old girls via a social media site.

Police are urging parents to remain vigilant, and warn their children of the dangers of talking to people they don't know on social media.

It will be alleged the man engaged in online conversation with two 14-year-old girls on a social media program.

The "girls" were in fact a police officer from Task Force Argos posing as the children.

Detectives from Task Force Argos and the Wynnum Child Protection Investigation Unit arrested the man yesterday, Thursday November 13, 2014 at a location in the Corinda area where he had organised to meet one of the children.

The 45-year-old Wynnum West man has been charged with two counts of using a carriage service to procure a child under 16 and two counts of using a carriage service to transmit indecent communication to a person under 16.

He is due to appear in the Wynnum Magistrates Court on Monday December 8, 2014.
