Loss could lead to big win
ALISSA Ganter may be 34 kilograms lighter, but her pockets could soon be a whole lot heavier.
The Rockhampton mother of two has watched the number on her scales plummet since she started Bodytrim in April last year.
Bodytrim is a weight loss program designed to educate people about the three W's of weight loss: what to eat, when to eat and why.
Now, at her goal weight of 66.5kg, she has beaten thousands of Aussies across the nation to be named a finalist in the Bodytrim Challenge.
Alissa is one of only 11 finalists and with $50,000 up for grabs it's no wonder she can't stop smiling. But while the money would be nice, Alissa said she already felt like she'd won.
"My weight is something I've battled with my whole adult life," she said.
"I always thought I was a weak person.
"Then I lost my little girl who was a full-term stillborn, and I realised if I could survive that I could do anything."
Alissa will travel to Sydney for the finals next Friday.
"If I win I'll go on a holiday with the family and pay off a few debts," she said.
