Local talent well placed

FIVE Warwick-based drivers won round four of the Queensland Super Sprints for B series drivers at the weekend.

Stephen Wilkins was first in the formula vees and Irene Wilkins sixth.

Warwick District Sporting Car Club member Dan O'Mara won the improved production 0-1600cc class.

Matt Campbell won a hockey player of the final award on Saturday night in between driving his way to victory in the pre-72 classic touring cars 0-1500cc class at Morgan Park Raceway.

Darryl Bender was victorious in the pre-72 classic touring cars 2000cc to 3000cc class.

In the juniors it was almost a Warwick clean-sweep, with Kieren Locke the winner.

Luke Hain was second and the Haidley brothers, Mitchell and Hayden, fourth and fifth.

In the historic racing cars class 0-2000cc, Warwick driver Len Don was fourth.

Peter Robinson was fifth in improved production 1601-2000cc.
