DRAG RACING: Stanthorpe driver Lana Rice was one of the class winners in round 1 of JP Racing Dragfest at the Warwick Dragway.

She won her final to win the fast street class.

Lana and husband Les are regulars on drag racing strips at Warwick, Willowbank and Stanthorpe.

She has been racing for nine years and has a dial-in time of 7.71 seconds for her LH Holden Torano at the Warwick Dragway.

"I am normally within .1 of my dial-in time,” Lana said.

Just before the final on Sunday, she said she had one win at Dragfest and was aiming for another.

Her start and pass were near-perfect to chalk up another win.

In between drag racing meetings, she works at Rugby Farms at Amiens.

"Drag racing is a good outlet from work,” she said.

"Five or six of us from Stanthorpe regularly compete at the Warwick Dragway.”
