Lister denies wrong-doing after matter referred to police
MEMBER for Southern Downs James Lister has strongly denied any wrong-doing after Southern Downs Regional Council allegedly made a complaint to police.
The Border Post has asked council to comment on the matter, but they did not wish to discuss the specifics around the allegation.
"As the complaint is currently being investigated, it wouldn't be appropriate for council to comment at this stage," the spokesperson said.
"Sounds like dirty tricks," Lister said.
"I'm our member of parliament, and I am too busy with important work for the electorate than to worry about silly name-calling and political stunts.
" I just wish everyone would focus on the job they're paid to do rather than wasting time with silly plots and schemes.
"The council said I'm not allowed to have details (about the complaint) either."
