Legal eagle lands in Warwick

FROM Tenterfield, to Townsville, Toowoomba and Stanthorpe, Warwick's newest solicitor Lisa Hooper couldn't be happier to have ended up in the Rose City.

Alex Gudkovs of Gudkovs, Power and Settgast said Ms Hooper would replace Shane Power who has taken the reigns as principal of the School of Total Education.

"We feel Lisa is a very capable person with the background and experience and we really feel Lisa will have something to offer," Mr Gudkovs said.

Lisa, who grew up in Tenterfield, studied in Townsville and has practised in Toowoomba said the experience gave her a good grasp of regional law.

"I am a country girl at heart," she said.

Ms Hooper also added the title of president of the Downs and South West Law Association to her resume last year. On being a solicitor, Ms Hooper said she was living out her childhood dream.

"I wanted to be lawyer since I was a child," she said.

"I wanted to help people and I like that we continue to learn and be challenged."

When not working, Ms Hooper said she spent her time gardening and reading.

While she would be commuting from Stanthorpe for the immediate future, she looks forward to moving to the Rose City.

"The town is lovely," she said.
